2 May, 2013 - International Workers' Day celebrated on the First of May commemorates the historic struggle of working people throughout the world. It is also recognition of the Global Workers Movement and people unite to express their international solidary.

National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI)

Beginning as a Network in 1998, The National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) was registered in 2003 under the Societies registration Act of 1860. It brings together street vendor organizations under a single platform to collectively struggle for macro-level changes that are crucial for the livelihood of around 10 million vendors who are threatened by outdated laws and changing policies, practices and the attitudes of those in power.

Trades Union Congress (Ghana)

Ghana TUC logoThe Trades Union Congress (TUC) of Ghana is the main umbrella organization for trade union activities in Ghana, made up of 17 affiliated autonomous national unions. The TUC is the official mouthpiece of unionized labour in its dealing with government and with the employers' association. It currently has a total membership of about 500,000 members.

StreetNet Ghana Alliance

The StreetNet Ghana Alliance what formed in 2003, and registered in 2005. Currently, there are over 6,000 members, who work in street and market trading; approximately two-thirds of the members are women. StreetNet Ghana has six branches in two cities, and is governed by an executive committee of five women and two men. 

The StreetNet Ghana Alliance partners with the GA-East Traders Union and the Ghana Trades Union Congress, and is the Ghana national affiliate of StreetNet International. 

Markets of Warwick Win Mayoral Award for Excellence

On December 7th 2012, the Markets of Warwick Committee and the informal trading community of WarwickMarkets of Warwick Junction in general—including Asiye eTafuleni—realized victorious closure to the year when the Markets of Warwick project received a Mayor’s Award for Excellence in the tourism category. This is just two and a half years and 3,200 visitors since the project started.AET 2012
