According to SEWA, "SEWA decided to set up  Karmika School for Construction Workers (KSCW) at Ahmedabad, Gujarat in 2003 with the objective of training women workers in construction industry in the new technology so that they are able  to enhance their quality of life, raise their economic strength, productive efficiency and consequently bargaining power."
