Mexico-Employment Formalization Program Statement
WIEGO has translated the President of Mexico's July 2013 speech, in which he discusses informal employment in Mexico. He notes that "New, more accurate methods introduced by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) have made it clear that six out of every 10 jobs is in the informal economy," and describes government initiatives to address informal employment issues and to strengthen formal employment opportunities.
