Neida Clara Tamayo Torrico de la Red de Recolectores de Santa Cruz, Bolivia discute algunas de las dificultades que enfrentan los recicladores en su labor y sobre su lucha por obtener una ley que reconozca su trabajo, así como de apoyos del gobierno en varios aspectos que afectan sus vidas. La discriminación a las mujeres que trabajan en este sector continúan a pesar de algunos avances logrados a raíz de leyes en la materia.

Neida Clara Tamayo Torrico, from the Red de Recolectores de Santa Cruz, Bolivia (Santa Cruz Waste Pickers' Network), discusses some of the difficulties facing waste pickers in performing their job and talks about their fight to obtain a legislation that would recognize their work, as well as support from the government in various aspects affecting their lives. Women discrimination in the sector prevails despite some progress made thanks to legislation on the matter.
