Presentations from UNDESA DSPD expert group meeting on promoting inclusion through social protection

By on December 01, 2016

On the 1-2 December 2016, UNDESA DSPD hosted an Expert Group Meeting on Promoting Inclusion Through Social Protection at the UN headquarters in New York.  The aim of the meeting was to better understand the  main barriers to social protection coverage faced by youth, older persons, persons with disabilities, ethnic minorities, indigenous peoples and international migrants. Many of the presentations touch on social protection programmes that can also have a positive impact on informal workers. The presentations from the ILO, IDS, CEPAL and other research institutes present examples of best practices and success stories that can inform MBOs understanding of social protection programmes.
