ILO INWORK Newsletter: Research on and with Domestic Workers

By on July 01, 2015

From this edition of the ILO's newsletter: "This month, in collaboration with universities from around the globe, the ILO hosted the 4th Regulating for Decent Work Conference 2015. Under the title “Developing and Implementing Policies for a better Future at Work”, dozens of researchers from around the world submitted their work on domestic work. 27 of these papers were accepted to the Conference that analyse the sector and advance ideas to make decent work a reality for domestic workers. This represents a steep growth in terms of numbers of papers, as the 3rd RDW Conference in 2013 had seen only six papers on domestic work. This growing interest of the academic community on the topic reflects a wider trend at universities, international organizations and policy institutes around the world."
