A blog written by Jenna Harvey while she was a Fulbright student in 2013-2014.

Jenna Harvey blog

On Jenna's introduction she writes: "Over a period of eight months, from October 2013-June 2014 I carried out research as a Fulbright U.S. Student in La Carpio. My research was focused on the spectrum of informal economic exchanges taking place there: from street vendors peddling their goods on street corners to successful micro-entrepreneurs selling products and services from storefronts. I specifically focused on the participation of women in the informal economy of La Carpio and how their efforts have served to pull entire families out of poverty and contribute to the economic development of a place that began as a squatter settlement in an abandoned coffee field."
