Southern African Development Community Protocol on Employment and Labour

The objective of the protocol among other things is to achieve minimum labour standards, social protection and to create sustainable social dialogue. The protocol is aimed at ensuring productive employment and sustainable and inclusive development. It lists a number of key rights that state parties undertake to observe. These include freedom of association and collective bargaining, equal treatment, employment and remuneration, improving working and living conditions, decent work and social protection
