Sri Lanka: Domestic Workers
According to Verite Research: This is a video that was developed for a concert in aid of Domestic Workers in Sri Lanka. Domestic work is often not seen as 'real work', or as a real profession, and the conditions of work are often less than decent. Through supporting meaningful ratification of Convention C189 in Sri Lanka, we can ensure that domestic workers have access to social and legal protection, fair working hours, a written contract, decent working environment, minimum wage, minimum age, freedom of association, daily and weekly rest and paid annual leave.
