From the introduction to this first edition of the newsletter: "WasteAid is an initiative from the international waste industry to start to meet some of the huge challenges presented by solid waste that face poor communities at home and overseas. Poor waste management can inflict disease, economic hardship, dis-empowerment and injustice, these burdens often rest on those that are least able to respond."
