Written Observations on the Request for an Advisory Opinion on the Content and Scope of the Right to Care as a Human Right and its Interrelation with Other Rights

WIEGO submitted written observations to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) on the right to care. The submission was developed in support of the Republic of Argentina's request that the IACHR determine the scope of care as a human right, as well as the obligations that States are required to fulfill in this regard. The document explores the scope of the right to care as an autonomous human right, the interrelation between care and other economic, social, cultural, and environmental rights and the right of workers in informal employment to access care.
