This book traces the history of the land reform movement (The Urban Reform Forum ) and explains the advances of the City Statute and what followed after its approval, the creation of the Ministry of the Cities. It also dwells on the challenges of implementing such a progressive framework in the context of rampant social inequality in Brazil. The City Statute in a nutshell brings together in a single text a series of key themes with regards urban justice, environmental equilibrium and democratic governance.
