Literature Survey: Informality and Planning
The term “informality” has attracted significant attention within recent planning literature. It is however, used in different senses and contexts. This literature review explores general trends and issues at the intersection of informality and planning, including informal transport, informal service provision and informal settlements. It also includes a review of sector-specific studies of informal economies (street vendors, home-based enterprises, waste pickers and other sectors).
