Macroeconomic policy and women’s economic empowerment

By on September 01, 2017

This discussion paper is the result of a collaboration initiated in consultation with several members of the United Nations Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment. The process was led by UN Women and included WIEGO and other panel members. The paper aims to contribute to the public debate by highlighting why macroeconomic policies need to incorporate gender perspectives to advance women’s economic empowerment, and how the overall economic environment is a crucial enabler of gender equality.
