This brief summarizes statistics on employment – and, in particular, on urban informal employment – in Kenya.

The statistics are based on analysis of the Kenya Integrated Household Budget Survey of 2004/6, conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics (at that time called Central Bureau of Statistics).
