Agustín Eduardo Vélez

Bio

Agustín Vélez is a non-binary Latino (pronouns: he/him) born in the Argentinian city of Córdoba. His great passion for languages led him to obtain a degree as a French-Spanish sworn translator at the National University of Cordoba. While there, Agustín received a scholarship to study at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, an experience that has allowed him to delve into themes surrounding diversity in language and linguistic varieties. Further to completing his undergraduate degree and fueled by his interest in multiculturalism and the construction of identities, Agustin is presently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Migration and Refugees Protection at the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires. He currently supports the WIEGO Communications Team in the capacity of Translation and Interpretation Support Consultant. He is a member of the WIEGO Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Working Group and continues to explore the relationships that exist between languages, cultures and ways of perceiving the world.
