Kweku Kyere

Project Officer (Street Vendors and Market Traders)

Bio

Kweku is currently the Focal City Accra Project Support Officer for WIEGO providing research, and administrative duties to the Accra Focal Cities Project. He also leads on Communications and knowledge management initiatives across the different programmes. He has worked with WIEGO over the past ten years focusing and conducting research and baseline studies, developing knowledge management products for Street Vendors, Market Traders, Kayayei and Waste Pickers. He has been part of major research projects conducted by WIEGO (10 cities study) at the global level – the Informal Economy Monitoring Study (IEMS) in 2012 and at the local level in Accra, notably the Child Care study, Child Care Mapping study, Informal Economy Budget Study, Kayaye Scoping Study, Mapping Study of Accra Markets and Waste Pickers baseline Study. Kweku holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Ghana and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology respectively. He is currently pursuing the Professional Law Course to the Ghana Bar of Lawyers at the Ghana School of Law. His interests are in social policy and advocacy work, writing, literary works like acting, reciting, developing and directing concepts for stage arts.
