Organized by the Global Research Forum, Institute of Development Studies and the University of Sussex (SPRU), the conference “Sustainable Lifestyle, Livelihoods and the Circular Economy” took place from 27 to 29 June 2017, in Brighton, United Kingdom.
WIEGO’s waste specialist Sonia Dias delivered the keynote speech “Closing the Loop – Is There a Place for Informal Waste Pickers in the Circular Economy”. Sonia was also one of the speakers of the panel “Circular economy in developing country contexts: traditional livelihoods, informal sectors and SMEs”.
