Organized by the French Development Agency (AFD), the Women Employment in Latin America workshop took place on May 31st in Paris, France. The event was followed by the conference “The Sustainable City in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean”.
WIEGO contributed to AFD’s interest in understanding the challenges on Gender and Employment, one of their strategies for their 2018-2022 Agenda in Latin America.
WIEGO’s waste specialist Sonia Dias attended the event, where she delivered the presentation “Rethinking waste and gender – key insights from Brazil”. The presentaton discussed women’s role in the informal economy and the challenges they face and how donors can collaborate.
