Review of Literature for the Technology & the Future of Work Project

This annotated bibliography was prepared as part of the Technology & the Future of Work Project led by WIEGO and Practical Action. The document explores the positive and negative impacts of different technology systems (including transport systems, energy systems, waste systems and ICTs) on informal worker livelihoods and organizing. It also reviews technology forecasts for the future and their potential effects on informal workers and describes concepts including disruptive technology, frugal innovation, and inclusive economies.
