This study aims to produce a, clear portrait of working conditions in the seaweed farming industry in Zanzibar from a worker perspective. Its main objectives are:
- to provide current information on the seaweed farming industry in Zanzibar from a workers perspective, with a particular emphasis on gender dynamics;
- to gather information about the health and safety risks and hazards seaweed workers face; and,
- to gather information about both formal and informal authorities and institutions that, impact farmers working lives in general and their health and safety in particular.
