Enforcement of Labor Standards/Rights in Developing Countries: Challenges and Solutions

Political economist Michael J. Piore (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) presented on different systems of labour standard enforcement for factory workers and sub-contracted workers at the WIEGO 20th Anniversary Research Conference in November 2017. He drew on his own work in Morocco, France and the Dominican Republic to explore the potential of different systems to extend protections to informal, subcontracted labour.
